While reading a story on the new Roadmaster Classic on the " Motorbike Writer " webpage .  I found this pic of an upgraded 2017 Roadmaster or Chieftain dash andd  tank trim , showing seperate fuel and voltage instruments . I checked other RM Classic  pics and the upgrade was not to be found . Perhaps this is the setup for the yet to be revealed Chieftain Elite . I am really looking forward to seeing the new models as any new accessories may be fitted to my 2017 Roadmaster  .  IND-RMC-MY17-0047.jpg

I think that looks really good, it is form over function as the information is available on the screen.  But, it looks good as it balances out the rather horrible square screen that is function over form...

But I like analog shit.  My kids laugh because I have a car with real leather, real wood and a (electronic) analog clock.  At 55 I have apparently embraced old age.

I like bluegrass, banjos and motorcycles.

Agreed.  The 'dash' and gauges blends in better together.

All fair comment  guys . I just recon it looks good . Kinda like an EH Holden guage cluster . More to the point is this the Tank trim from the as of yet unseen Chieftain Elite? ?? I have not seen this setup on anybike or listed as an accessory.

I clicked on the link and it says not for 2017 Roadmaster.  Must be for other Chief models ...

😳 I tried about 8 different models from 2015, 2016 and 2017, Chieftain and Roadmaster and nothing fits!! I tend to think there might be a backend human error.  As far as I know, fuel tank on all TS111 are the same... of course, they may not have the required plug...

😂😆👍  Maybe one needle would be orange and the other would be red (just like the speedo vs fuel guage on Chiefs).  😜

yes I was , but I also just noticed on the Willow Green pic that it looks like a different windscreen on it as well as a high flow airfilter . So maybe a pic of a bike with all the bits on it , or who knows  ?

Was talking to the bike shop last week in preparation for my new 2017 (yeh, I know, I keep rubbing it in).  Anyway, I asked about the console and they had no idea that there was one.  Anyway, I took him to this page and showed him and now I have an official price from Indian Melbourne for one of these consoles.  You ready [smile]  $909AUD plus labour.

I am thinking that I might just do it [biggrin]
It does look a lot better than stock but it is going to take a while for it to come in - couple of months apparently.

Hey Crash , is the unit a single part number [ what is it ] or is it a whole bunch of numbers ? Do the other readouts for Voltage and fuel continue to work as well , or do they stop functioning when the add on unit is installed ? Cheers Marty

Interesting question, I don't know, John didn't tell me - just gave me a price but that does give me another reason to send him an email [biggrin]

I would be happy with the fuel gauge but not particularly interested in the battery gauge.  Would be interesting to consider a gauge that showed the pressure in the rear shocker - now that could be quite handy.  Could do something like damich has done only putting the readout on the tank.

I have some more information on the tank trim.  They refer to it as the "console"

"Console part number 2881843-156

To the best of our knowledge, the console is an addition so you still have the information listed in the ride-command touch screen. There is already a plug in the loom for the fuel gauge/battery console so if you wanted to swap it out for something else, it would be a bit of custom wiring"

This was directly from an email received from Indian in relation to this particular piece of kit.  My question was, can we change the gauges over for different ones if you don't want the "battery gauge" but would like to use something else.  It seems that it is not going to be as easy but with a bit of trick wiring can be achieved.

But I guess the take home items from this email were
1. the part number and
2. the fact that the information is still going to be available in the ride-command touch screen.
3. it is pre-wired ready to go.

These are the parts:

Console (USD$400): http://store.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/shop/accessories/tanks-consoles/2881843-156/

Insert (USD$100) Black plastic (available in 3 different colour schemes): http://store.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/shop/accessories/tanks-consoles/2881847-03/

Two guages are not yet listed on Indian USA website.  Here is a fuel guage that you attach to the tank on Chief models.

Guages (USD$200): http://store.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/shop/accessories/tanks-consoles/2880731-156/

So assuming battery guage and fuel guage set were sold for USD$200, the console kit will be about USD$700... which might be about AUD$909.
