I had a play with the new Ride Command system at the dealership the other day. People are right - it DOES look better in real life.
It's very smooth, and harbours a plethora of information at your finger/glove tips in it's womb.
Also, FINALLY, Indian worked out that for decent sound, you need decent material for a sound box.
Up until the 2017 models, even if you replace the stock Indian speakers (which use mini driver magnets) with Polk or Focals, the bass is still 'muddy'.
If you feel the fairing and its flexing like a mutha even at low volume, not to mention all the 'leaks'.
Now the fairing is made from the same sort of ABS that the panniers are made from, with very little flex, giving bass a much less muddy sound. Add to that the 100w amp, as opposed to 50w, and its a vast improvement over 2014/15/16 model sound. It's actually enjoyable.

and something that you can see clearly - that's pretty good (not that red crap). It looks like they have changed the colour of the backlight behind the speedo - that's awesome - hopefully will be able to see the speedo now in low light.

Yeah, that's a biatch eh Crash? Especially as dusk, its as if the backlight, the ambient light, and the dial all merge into one colour. Awesome tests they must have done

I notice that the gauge still is in MPG - presumably they can change that on delivery - this must just be the default value.

Listen to that sewing machine! lol It really is sad that the bloody EPA laws prevent Stage 1 from being standard.

Hi Kappy, I'm just wondering if the Ride Command screen has a dimmer? It seemed very bright in your video & would annoy the crap out of me.

Yes, you can dim it down. You can also turn it off (but kind of defeats the purpose of having it I suppose).
