For those who have seen people putting the new Chieftain seat on their bikes (in the USA and locally) they're now available in Australia through Indian dealers for less than $700! I was REALLY surprised at that price to be honest. Considering the plastic chromed fender tip pair is $200! For two tiny pieces of plastic!

These days I always check the US pricing first before ordering anything (not that I was looking to order the 2019 Chieftain seat).  If I add all the bits that makes up the sea, it works out to be USD$377.75.  Which equals AUD$523.  The USA price is tax free but the dealers in the States do offer 10% discount to their bike buying customers, often more but ignoring that, with GST and shipment, the seat should be priced at about $600 in Australia.  So Rec Retail of $700 is not bad.  Especially if you have the relationship with your dealer and they offer you 10% discount... bringing it down to $630.  Could this be the start of Indian Australia pricing parts and accessories at a reasonable prices???  Let us hope.

Under $700. I can't remember if I was told $649 or $699. I think it was $649 but didn't want to misquote so said under $700.

Personally, I love the look compared to OEM. And the price is very good, so I'm going to give it a try...

By the way, Indian website says the seat is made from vinyl.  That might explain the price a bit better.

I would think for that money, dedicated aftermarket companies will offer you more comfortable seats.

I'd love an Ultimate seat sure, but twice the price landed in Australia!

Some Indian Australia prices surprise me but most disappoint me. Enjoy the seat.

I ordered a Rouge seat from the 19 Chieftan Ltd today for my RM, the seats retail price in OZ is $650, but Polaris want $450 for the Rouge vinyl back rest pad, they sell the black leather back rest pad here for around $330, I was assured I will not be paying that price for the Rouge back rest pad, I also ordered the back rest frame, rubber plugs and the chrome cover for the rear seat mount, I will leave the top box and front pods off the RM you really can feel the weight of the top box on the back compared to my Vintage, maybe just use if I do a long trip.

I wouldn't put the standard height backrest on with the Rogue seat. It needs a lower one, like Zorros. Just my opinion.

Low height passenger back rest is only good for passenger not falling off the back, in my opinion.  If anyone wants to go on longer rides with their passenger, your partner will appreciate the normal height back rest.

I agree!  Passenger back rests are ugly.  Just leave it off and tell your lady to ‘hang on tight!’. 😆

I finally received my Rouge seat last week fitted it to the RM on the weekend  I am impressed with seat comfort, the wife thought the seat was comfortable as a passenger, you sit lower in the saddle than you do with the standard RM seat, I will probably have a black sheep skin cover made for it, I really like the look, it looks like Polaris received  a shippment of Rouge seats with the rear mount bracket missing, they are on back order till march, the Sydney dealer located a seat for me with the missing bracket, I will post some pics.
