A decent price at last, but a couple of niggles.

Either the lids are reversible and they've put them on the wrong side, or the lock on top is mounted backwards. The way it is in the pics it will force water into the lock.

It also seems there are no mounting levers etc.
Cheers, Kim.

this link from dutch is actually from the same seller ( Fred) but a different ad, cheaper price, lids are now correct and appears the latches come with them, however the wiring still looks wrong, right bag has 2 lots of wires (1 set to the bike, 1 aux) which is correct, the left bag should only have 1 set of wires, to the bike, which mean the left plug will not plug into the bike, as the bag will have a 4 PIN PLUG and the bike has a 2 PIN PLUG, the plugs will have to be changed, but a much better deal, also these bags seem to have the chrome strip added

Well got my hard bags just in time for the 10% tax I'm pleased with the quality and service only thing I had to do was the wiring from the bags instead of finding new plugs I went for the complete set L and R remote units from Indian $100 just a paint job and then on the road

Hi cloud well I payed $1400 delivered to my door like I said +$100 for the remote L and R and a paint job $500 because I got a Springfield blue Vintage so all up $2000 that is a massive saving over the Indian hardbags and I am happy o and I ordered today the Indian lid racks $510 but that is because I wanted them to protect the lids (paint) because we I travel I travel with a big swag.
And yes I would recommend these bags and you save heaps I post photos when all done in the next 4 weeks or so

Can I just clarify something here Dutch?  Did you buy Indian hard bags from overseas OR did you buy replica hard bags on ebay?

2nd question.  I know the mounting spools on a Vintage (cruiser models) is slightly different to the spool on Chieftain/RM (touring models).  Did you had to modify the mounting in anyway or did your hard bags just fit out of the box?

I bought the bags from above link and your right with the spools you can either fork more money out or make something your self V-twin remember when you where in Adelaide and we met i told you about my anti theft thing I made for my vintage bags while using the same spools that is what I use now so I don't have to buy new spools

Thanks for the info... so sounds like these hard bags come with Chieftain spool spacing.  Glad you made your own spools Dutch!

Ok so you used Freds bag and got new wiring..kewl

how did you go with making them water tight and did you already have the brackets on your pipes for the bags or did you modify the bags

I thought the spools and bags should have fit on your model bike, on all models actually, I do know the spool sizes differ, my sissy bar wont fit say the Springfield spools

what did you actually end up getting from Fred, I received bags, locks, wiring, I supplied spools, latches and changed out the plug on the left bag,
looking at the new ad, it looks like he supplies everything now

glad your happy with your bags also and at that price, brilliant

Hi cloud well the are at the painter at the moment so I'm not sure how the seal works might have to have a look at the dealership I got chieftain mufflers for ebay, you could use your spools the system I make is a cheaper version of what they sell in the USA they sit inside the spools, I started to make them when bags started to get stolen if you are interested 4 for $50 +shipping you need 4 for the hard bags the quick release won't fit in the spools from the hard bags when you use the leather bags you can get away with 2 to stop the stealing, the USA ones are $25 us for 1 so $100 us +the 10%and shipping
Yep the $1400 ones are complete from Fred but instead looking for a plug I got the remote units with wires from Indian so I know it will work with the fob

hi Dutch, in regards to the seals, my bags didnt have enough of a lip to buy and run a normal seal, but I used stick on seals to keep the water out,

ok, so you did change your mufflers, kewl

so you have your own locking system, thats awsum, I got a fob from the shop and use the locks to keep the honest thief at bay...lol

a little while after I cut the wires on the left bag I came across some compatible plugs..ilmfao, so I have plenty of them

awsum, Im glad someone else has taken the gamble and are happy with the result

wud love a pic of your painted bags when the are out of the shop

Happy Days
