Gday fellow Indian riders

Have just purchased a 2016 chief dark horse and fitted an Indian extended reach heated seat part # 2882423-02
I really needed the extended reach from the seat and also lowered the floorboards as im a tall fat(fkr)man.

My dealer tells me that the heater on the seat is not able to be hooked up on the chief DH.

There are two plugs under the seat and both are different to the plug on the seat.

Has anyone hooked up one of these seats to there chief? Was it just a matter of changing the plug to suit? I’m sure it can be done somehow maybe by creating a new circuit from the fuse box.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Following... I think the Indian RM Extended Reach heated seat is the one I've settled on for my Chieftain for more comfort for me and my wife. I haven't seen the RM guys complaining about their seats yet I have seen a few from the other models.

Sales passed word onto me from the service team. I fitted the seat myself but didn't hook up the heater on there advice.

interesting cause i have a spare bit of wiring under my seat, it has a cap over the end to keep moisture out, have u had a look urself, im sure its for a heated seat

but having said that, there probably needs a control of some sort as well, so i guess its not just of plug and go kinda thing

Thanks for the advice fellas. I am going to talk to my dealer again and find out why he is suggesting the seat heater cannot be hooked up.

Thanks for that mate have cleared with the dealer. Looks like it may be a miss print in the workshop manual. Will hook it up tomorrow and let you know 👍

Yes all hooked up and works nicely. Never had a bike with a heated seat. Looking forward to keeping my fat arse warm and anything else close by 😀👍
