Hi
I was wondering if many other riders do a bit of long distance touring.  If so, how about a topic or category so we could arrange get togethers/ chats/ shared rides when doing extended trips?
I often do lone rides of a week to over three weeks and well, a bit of a chat and time with other riders would be very welcome at times.
Any thoughts on the matter?

I do some long rides but mostly in company with others. I put 30,000 kms on my Springfield in it's first year, now up to 50,000 in less than two years. Sometimes I'm up your way, rode to Cooktown and back with a mate last year.
Cheers, Kim.

Hi again

We should have a chat about this. I love Cooktown and some really great coastal villages along the way. I wouldn't mind doing a ride up that way next Autumn/winter. Though thinking of something a bit longer if I can get away with it - Brisbane to Innisfail/Atherton on Coast road (or out to Roma then on to Charters towers) then on The Savanna Way to Normanton, Mt Isa, Tennant Creek and then either Darwin (preferred) or Adelaide via Alice Springs and Uluru (depending on road and weather conditions might even swing over to lake Eyre).
Yeah, I also like long road trips.
Cheers

Would love something like that Papa . Unfortunately work is a problem 😔. Though would be interested in weekend rides over a couple of nights .   Was a great trip to Glenn Innis a few months back with Brizzy crew .
Indian Owners SEQ N.Rivers site . A lot of riders north side to connect with .
Also the Vic riders cams up last year for a week to Byron and we spent the weekend with them . Now that was awesome . Dr  Shifty was there .

 Hi Ray
Yeah work …. I am one of the lucky ones who doesn't do any paid work anymore. Once I get the trike home (even b4 completeing all the "improvements") andI will see if I can organise a ride.  Thinking I could ride up Friday night and Could  stay at Tin Can Bay (I love Tin Can Bay).  Perhaps plan a day or two ride from there.

Hey Ray
I also met the infamous Dr Shifty (AKA Kim) when I went to Newcastle to pick up the new Trike - what a fantastic bloke.  He spent the whole day with me, including a 7k walk along Lake Macquarie, while waiting for the Trike to be ready.  He then drove me  to pick it up then showed me around the area for the rest of the day.  We  shared lunch and had dinner at the yacht club (in our bike gear). He had a go at riding the beast.  His comment: "weird".  So true - riding the Trike is a bit weird though I am getting use to it.  It is something one has to experience to appreciate. It was a fantastic day - thanks Kim.
