V-Twin
Hey all,

As the temperature cools down, I was thinking about the heated seat for my wife.  Has anyone fitted an aftermarket heated seat (for the rider, pillion or both) on their Indian?  Or has anyone found the heating element and control unit that could have stitched into the existing seat(s)?

My main concern is not generating error codes and not blowing up the electronics on my bike.  I think someone on this forum ran wires directly to their bike battery to power their clip-on GPS and they got an error so not sure how something like the heated seats could be hooked up.

Any tips from anyone will be appreciated.

Hi V-Twin, I have an aftermarket Corbin heated seat (rider and pillion) for my Chieftain.  Never had an error code.  I bought the bike with it fitted, so if it's any help, heres some pics.  IMG_0411.jpg  IMG_0408.jpg

Corbin makes great saddles. I absolutely love mine, though I did not opt for the heated version. I've seen a bunch of posts on the other forum though. Seems the biggest issue most people have is with the customer service. Haven't heard or read any complaints about error codes.

Thank you Claire for posting the photos.  I will look into the Corbin range and see what might suit me.

Thanks Hunter.  I have also heard the same feedback re: Corbin customer service.  hmmmm... 🤔

My experience with them wasn't bad at all, just to clarify. Just be certain to pay close attention to the confirmation email if/when you purchase something. Sometimes their system is a little funny and won't save everything quite right.

I made a custom order from their website, but when I got the confirmation email one of the colors was wrong. I called them, they fixed it, sent me a new confirmation and all was well with the world. Based on my experience, a lot of the negative feedback I've seen was because the customer did not thoroughly read the confirmation email.

I'm not sure how they do with international orders. Maybe someone on your side has some experience and can chip in 😊.

Very very poorly. They do not accept orders from Australia and do not ship to Australia as they have Australian distributors. The Australian distributors however NEVER return emails and do NOT answer their phone.

The best option for buying a Corbin in Australia is to use a company like priceusa.com.au - effectively a buying agent who will place the order with Corbin, receive the order and then they on-ship to Australia.

I can attest to Corbin and their reps in Australia having very poor customer service.

Other companies seem only too willing to sell to Australians - Ultimate in particular were FANTASTIC!
