Hello all,

I really like the look of the riding position you get with the Indian 10" mini apes for the scout bobber,

The website list's them as "Will not fit" even though I've seen photos of them on, but I've found out it is an ABS line issue,

One of the dealers in Aus said they have done it,

I wondered if anyone has successfully done this to their Aus scout bobber and if there is a list of what you need to pinch from an original abs scout to make it work

http://catalog.indianmotorcycle.com.au/shop/ProductDisplay.cfm?id=594543&cid=1238

Im pretty sure:
You need scout standard grips
You need scout abs and brake lines

any more help would be appreciated

Thanks

I've always fancied the mini apes. I reckon you could get them to fit nicely and comfortable as well. I don't ride a scout Zeus, but I'm sure there are some Scout owners who have added apes.
Guys?

Fingers crossed!

I've seen lots of photos of the mini apes on the Yank bobber and Sterling in the Melb dealer said they have fitted a few here in Aus,

I've just yet to find a clear explanation of what bits you need,

As I said I'm pretty sure you just pinch all the bits from an ABS original scout to make it work,

Just want to be 110% before I shell out cash for parts.

Thanks

That makes sense.  I am sure I am not telling anything you don't already know but depending on the height of your aps you are interested in, you may need new brake line, clutch cable, etc.,

Yes that's right, the website states the parts that the non ABS scout bobber needs (Below)

But they flat out say that it will not fit the ABS bobber (Which is silly because the original scout possesses all the pieces to make it work so Im told)

Mini-Ape Handlebar BLACK
Infuse an Indian® Scout® with custom style and attitude, and enjoy a comfortable reach with these blacked out Mini-Ape Handlebars. They give the bike distinctive style and utilize the stock controls and cables.

These handlebars will not fit an Indian® Scout® Bobber with ABS.
Indian® Scout® Bobber without ABS will require Clutch Cable and Brake Line Kit (2883406).

That is really interesting... why would ABS suddenly stop working by just by fitting a longer brake line and clutch cable???  🤔

Hey all,

I've spoken to a couple of Indian dealer mechanics (Perth/Melb/Syd) and they all say it is definitely doable,

I find it silly that Indian would list the apes as a No fit item for the bobber when a couple of replacement lines do the trick,

good news for scout bobber riders anyway

Thanks
