i have read your story @wapo (across the threads!!) and I also had a change of colour / heart - which wasn’t as ‘forced’ as yours, but more last minute. Once I decided on a Springfield instead of a Scout (long story on another thread), I was automatically thinking black. My previous bikes were black and there wasn’t much to think about as far colour goes. Well that’s what I thought.

When I finally went to the Sydney dealer to put the deposit down I saw a beautiful steel grey/burgundy SF gleaming under spotlights up on their circular presentation stand. I looked across at the black one and as good as it looked, it didn’t compare. At the very last minute I decided on the grey/burgundy bike and apart from some early stage buyer regret that lasted about a week, I absolutely love it and so glad that I decided that way.

When the sale dude said it was the last grey/burgundy 2017 left in Australia, I almost sliced his hand off with the speed of my credit card coming out of my wallet!!

It is very different to almost all other V twins on the road (across all brands/models) and a little easier to keep clean than black .  Which really means it doesn’t quite show the dirt as much and therefore I don’t have to wash it as often!

I guess what I am saying, and what I see you are saying, is that it is good to be a bit different, to have the flexibility of mind to change for whatever reason - and then to love the result.

Karma...
