Only got a single fob when I purchased the bike ( not counting the Scout, it has a key ).  I DID have a fair few problems with the fob well after I bought the bike & after the said problems were supposed to be rectified.  Ended up having two fobs, but one stuffed up so back to the single fob.
It's ok, you can start the bike with the indicators using your number, but, trust me, you don't realise how many times you start & stop a bike until you have to resort to using your indicators to start it!!!  (haha, & you end up using a damn simple number to input! No, not like 1111, but similar!)
Mind you, have two fobs with my Harley, not really a problem.

One FOB, 2 PINS and zero problems since.

Because I use the PIN a fair bit, I made sure my rider PIN ended in 0 to make the whole thing work easier - i.e. no blinker left on when done.

Oh, Juan, I REALLY hope it wasn't "0000", that's the same pin  from "Spaceballs" & it was the installer fit!

They gave you the dealer PIN?

My gear sensor recall got rid of mine and I didn't have the dealer PIN in the book so asked the local guy. They said Indian's orders are not to give out dealer PIN any more as somebody could sell a bike and then go back and steal it. They had to read mine and then set up the rider PIN I gave them.

I gave them a number that is the opening rhythm of a famous rock song, something I could remember. That's a good idea of ending with 0.
Cheers, Kim.

Only on here as well.
Got the same advice, wont give out dealer pin, will set a pin of your choice, mine no longer uses the indicator, keypad on the screen.

Enjoy the wind in your face and the open road before you

Yes, it was long story that I wrote about a year or more ago.  I got quite annoyed that they though I couldn't have it.

The short story is that I had an argument with the Ashfield manager (while getting a service there) about who owned the bike and that I bought everything - including the PIN ! !

After a bit more to and fro - he handed it to me ... albeit begrudgingly.

No hard feelings . . . on my side anyway!

Hey Crazyhorse, just a thought, have you even Used the pin lately?
If you've only been using the fob the PIN may have changed without you noticing itI utilise my PIN every now & then to make sure it's ok
and to remind myself what the number is?  (it would be embarrassing to be stuck somewhere & then forget the PIN!) ðŸ‘
