I went to the MCA Auburn store to check out the Road Master with money burning a hole in my pocket. The place had all the ambience of a wrecking yard, with crumpy staff, the place was dirty with leaves and a coffee cup blowing around inside Indian's showroom. Not a place you feel like spending 40k on a motorbike. The place has not aimed up to the closed down Sydney Ashfield showroom which had a great atmosphere that showed off their new bikes well.

You might like to come up to Brisans at Newcastle to have a look. It's a multi brand dealer so a bit packed with bikes with a good environment and friendly staff.
Cheers, Kim.

I tend to agree with you here Peter. The auburn store is not set up to show the bikes. Go to Penrith. It is a bit farther to travel. However, the Roadmaster and other Indian bikes are displayed very well and the guys will provide test rides. Go see David Smith or young Jarrad who can assist you.

Cheers and would like to see you on a Roadmaster

Given that, stores are only stores.  The bike is what you need.  I've bought bikes at places that weren't all that flash but the bike was.
Still, if the staff are not so great, yep, give 'em a miss & spend your money elsewhere. (Penrith is a nice ride, did it years ago, so if YOU
feel happier give it a burl!  What's the harm?)  The bike is the thing, you can always get an appropriate dealer later.  Dang, I rode 1500kms
(one way) to go to my local & buy Two bikes he was great!
Anyhoo, hope you get the ride, regardless of any SH&t dealers.  ðŸ‘

Hi Peter, I've been trying to book my 2017 Scout into Auburn for a service for the last 3-4 weeks. Not as much as a peep back from them! Atrocious/Non existent customer service. Think I'll have to ride out to Penrith and soak up some of the love out there!

Does anyone have an email address for the Auburn dealership/service section?❓

Don't worry I found it and sent them an email 2 weeks ago. Still no reply.

To say that I am not impressed would be an understatement.

If this is the way that Indian are heading then it might be the first and last one that I buy!!!

Yeah Kym, I never heard back from Auburn either. I think that Indian need to step in and sort things out there. It reflects back badly on them!

However, having had to take the trip out to Penrith for my annual service, I was very impressed with with customer service and knowledge from the team out there. And the display area for Indian was excellent (though still a way short of the old Ashfield showroom!). Would highly recommend Penrith - it's like they're a completely different company than the Auburn mob!

OK an update for anyone interested.

After I got sick and tired of no one from the new Auburn Dealership responding to either my phone messages or emails I then emailed Indian Australia in Melbourne and told them my story and asked them ‘what the bloody hell was going on’.  Shortly thereafter I received an email from Damien the new Dealer Principal at Auburn.  He apologised for what had happened and we had a short chat and then he took my number and said that the service manager would ring me within 10-15 minutes.  And yes, he did.  My Springfield was booked in for the Gear Indicator recall.  I turned up on the day and was greeted by Damien who again apologised for what had taken place. I then gave my fob to David, the Service Manager and walked down to Hungry Jacks for a burger.  After that I walked back to the showroom to wait.  After 2 hours, total, David came out to me and asked what PIN number I wanted for the code to start the bike when you don't have the fob. I gave him the number and he went away and came back 5 minutes later and said 'All done'.  He gave me a ‘no charge’ invoice describing the work done and I was off home. The service that I received from the Auburn Dealership was very good but it should not have taken a complaint by me to Indian head office in Melbourne.  All in all a good experience and I look forward to a good relationship with the Auburn Dealership.

NOTE: David said if you have an aftermarket fuel controller such as the Power Commander products then you will have to re-install your map as during the process of fitting the gear position indicator thing-a-ma-jig they re-flash the VCM and ECM.  I have a Power Commander PVCX which I will have to re-flash.  I am in the process of getting on to Fuel Moto in the States where I bought the unit to get this sorted out.
