AAMC
Hi all,

below is the graph from 4 different mods we've done and dyno'd for 111 engines.
All these bikes have stage 1 slip on mufflers and Indian performance air filter for reference.
  • Indian Stage 2 Cams
  • Lloydz 558 Cams
  • Lloydz 585 Cams
  • Indian 116 Stage 3 Big Bore kit

The lowest (79.8 RWHP) is the average of the stage 2 cam kits we've fitted, which vary a bit depending on model year and air filters fitted etc.

The next result is Lloyd 558 cams and PV-CX and decat at 96.5 RWHP

Next up is Lloydz 585 Cams, PV-CX and decat at 106.1 RWHP.

Then the big daddy S3 116 Kit at 110.1 RWHP.

The other sheet shows the torque curves of all 4.. The 558 cams make better power & torque to 3100 RPM than the 585, but the 585 makes better top end from 3100 upward, so the choice would depend on your riding style. The 116 with both cubes and compression added makes the best torque of all at almost 120 RW Ft Lb.

Interestingly, all the cams / kits make more power & torque everywhere than the factory stage 2 cams!

The 116 kit proves my favourite saying of "there's only one substitute for cubic inches.... MORE cubic inches! ÃƒÆ’ƒÂ°Ã…¸Ëœâ€¦

Given that the stage3 kit comes with "emissions legal" cams, I cant wait to do 585 cams on a stage 3 as the cubes and comp will fill in the bottom end the 585 loses on the stock 111.

Keep in mind with the 116 kit we dyno'd, the customer opted to leave the cat in place for volume purposes. With the larger displacement this may become a slight restriction.

C'mon V-Twin..... you're getting left behind! ÃƒÆ’ƒÂ°Ã…¸Ëœâ€šÃ°Å¸ËœÅ“

Great Info guys, love it.
How much would it be to get the 558 S2 upgrade ?  I have Stage 1 with PVCX tune at the moment ?
Misses gave me a straight "F*CK OFF" when I mentioned the S3 kit so might have to go for the next best thing 😉
Thanks

I actually don’t know if I‘d need much more power than my comparatively ‘wimpy’ Stage 2.  It does run out of puff early in the revs but aside from that...

Nobody needs more power.. it's a want 😋

Itching to try a big bore kit with the lloyds cams, and a decat. Should be a match made in heaven 😉

I suspect the stage three cams would have to be pretty sedate (relatively speaking ofcourse) to pass US emissions.

...and this is how an Indian Motorcycle broke the sound barrier in late 2018!!  Witnesses say, they could see the flames from the exhaust pipes for over a kilometre.  ...Then the sonic boom destroyed all the time keeping devices.  🤣😝  A few moments later, some say the motorcycle exploded, but others say, it went back in time as it approached the speed of light and phased out of current timeline. 😎🏍

am i correct to say ur stage 2 is producing approx 95 torque at 3000rpm and hp is peaking at 90 hp at about 4700 rpm ??

are these normal stats for stage 1 pipes, stage 2 cam and indian air cleaner ?? or shud they be better ??

and will a power vision refine what i have ??

also read ur post on the decatting and i think this mite be the bit of decibel im looking for,

That particular one produced 95 ft-lb of torque at 3000 yes.
And not quite, the light blue graph was stage two which peaked at just shy of 80, not 90 @4500 🙂
We've seen some lower than this and some higher, every bike is different. The average is between 80-83hp for a stage two. The best I can remember seeing was 87rwhp 🙂

We actually ended up getting 109 out of the 585 cams, I can't wait to do a set in a big bore kit! Would be mental.

Yeah, all bikes had stage one mufflers and air cleaner 🙂

With just the stage two there's not a huge improvement.  Tuning itself doesn't necessarily give more powerful unless It's off the correct values in the first place 🙂

Tuning makes the mods you do safe and pushes the most power you can get 🙂 The biggest advantage of a cx on stage two is you can set the throttle control to whatever you want, want it slightly more aggressive.. no problem.

Generally id recommend a CX or a tune only if you want a something specific, or if you're doing non stage kit mods. The Polaris cals aren't usually that far off when used with genuine accessories. But it's absolutely mandatory if you use something like Lloyds cams. 🙂

Yeah, I personally love it, not bonkers just slightly louder and meatier 🙂
Just remember you can't go back once it's done 🙂

Summary - Mods give power, tunes lets you use them without melting something 🙂

Remember with dyno graphs that every machine reads different. You can have two identical brands at two different shops and they'll give different results; let alone between brands.
Dynos are tuning tools first, and comparison devices second. Ive had people tell me their bike makes 80hp stock, and when we do the first dyno run it can be as much as 5-25hp less or more.

The only comparison that's fair is on the same dyno and preferably the same day 🙂
Our dyno has a weather station built in, so it will compensate for humidity, barometric pressure, and temperature.

Awesome. More things to add to my wish list. Modifying bikes is a never ending addiction.

Dr Waffles do you know a good place in Sydney that is near on the same par as yourself, if it was viable I'd have you work on my steed but distance is the crippling factor with that scenario

We've had bikes shipped over on specialist road freight from WA before... Just saying [wink] lol.
To be honest I'm not really aware of anybody else doing indian and Victory dyno tuning, let alone CX.
Best to ask Rick regarding that and our pricing.
