Quick review of the "BPme" app. It's available for both iOS and Android. It requires location services turned on (well it makes it a LOT easier at least) and an internet connection.

https://www.bp.com/en_au/australia/products-services/bpme/bpme-app.html

So I downloaded the app to try it out. I decided to link it to my PayPal account for a bit of added security.

Download and setup time: less than 5 minutes.

I pulled into the BP on the Western Freeway outbound near Rockbank on Friday afternoon. Stopped the bike, opened the app on my phone (in the mount on my bike).

It detected the location and asked which pump I was at. I selected the pump and waited a couple of seconds and it said the pump was now active and to start pumping but "please leave phone in the car". I had a chuckle and left it in the mount. I got off my bike, and filled up as I normally do.

Within a couple of seconds of hanging up the nozzle, the app (which stayed open on the phone the whole time) processed the transaction, confirmed the amount and issued a receipt. PayPal also issued a receipt. That was the most important part for me before riding off.

It then asked for a rating - I gave it 5 stars. Jumped back on the bike and road off.

Didn't have to remove helmet or gloves.
Didn't have to find wallet and then card.
No lines.
No waiting.
No impulse buying (they're shooting themselves in the foot with this one).

It was simple. I really can't say anything other than it worked flawlessly and I was on my way. An excellent option for any motorist but as a rider, brilliant!

Only minor caution I would suggest is make sure you authorise the right pump at that step!

I recommend it.

LOL! I didn't even know that was on their FAQ. How would it not work on motorbikes? Hahahahahahaha!

That’s a great find CHF10! 👍😀

I wonder if I can link to my Virgin Velocity card to get points?  Also, I guess I have to print my own receipts but still... not a bad way to fill up if we don’t have to remove the helmet, etc.,  I know one thing... next time you fill up, I will help you hang up the petrol pump... trust me!  I will not fill my bike up at the same time... no sir!  😝

yeah, I used this app the other day and it was very convenient. There are still quite a few BP servos not connected though. They'll get there...

Still working perfectly for me on my bike... Also, if you try at a BP not enabled it tells you pretty quickly.

Started using it for filling the car last week. A lot quicker than standing in a line in the store and being sold crap I don't want.....

My guess is that their motorbike reference relates to not using a mobile phone near a petrol pump.
