Based in North Brisbane, have just bought a demo Springfield and haven't even taken delivery yet but very much looking forward to it,  been loving the 50% discounts on apparel etc from the Brisbane store but didn't find out till I joined this forum what's going on with the stores,  that was a bit disconcerting for a start but am a bit happier now that Ive read the info available here,

Im interested in one reason members have for buying their Indian over any other brand - it will help me learn what's truly great about my new bike as I bought it just because Im from the same part of the world as a certain B Munro and I loved the look of it !! :-)

Cheers

Andrew

Welcome aboard mate.  I also have a SF (with a few bits of bling and perf added) and absolutely love it.

My reason for buying Indian...  I was coming up to wanting a cruiser for retirement and was thinking HD.  I was a bit put off that almost everyone had a HD and I wanted something different.

About then I also finally saw the movie "Worlds Fastest Indian" and it got me wondering if the brand was still alive and well, because it hadn't really appeared on my radar.

Turns out Indian is very alive and well - and I was hooked.

Thanks for the welcome JuanPoop

Fastest Indian was partly filmed where I used to live,  when the boat was in port and they were lifting the bike down into the hold,, a guy I knew was the one guiding it once it got down in there so like you, I also got a bit of inspiration from the movie and also from the fact HD was what everyone else seemed to have including my best mate and it just wouldn't do to have the same as him !!    We will be riding alongside each other to Oreti Beach in a few short years to attend the Bert Munro 😎

Hi Ray,,  I was in the Valley store yesterday and the Manager was saying end of July so will be getting first service done there before they close and after that the Springwood shop will be a straight run from D Bay down the highway so no biggie.   Will check out the fb page,  cheers for that

Hi Andrew,
Welcome to the forum from another Springfield rider.

My first Indian was a 2016 Scout and it's all Bert Munro's fault as well. I saw the movie and the next thing I saw the newly designed Scout. I wasn't looking for it and I have no idea now how it appeared on my radar apart from the movie raising awareness in my mind. I've ridden bikes all my life and owned heaps of them, mostly dirt and sporty things, but was so impressed with the design of the Scout that I thought it might just be enough to get me onto a cruiser. I bought one the week I retired. 18 months later and I moved to the Springfield for more touring comfort.
Cheers, Kim.

Hi Andrew
Welcome to the forum.
I have always been a cruiser guy anyway and I already had a Harley Shovelhead  on the road and a Panhead project so an Indian was always going to be next. I just assumed  it would be a vintage project.
Then the Dark Horse was released and I had to have one so I put a deposit down before they arrived in Australia. I have not been dissappointed.
Still hope to get a vintage Indian when the Pan is done.
