nhamer
Hello, I have just bought a 2017 Chief Dark Horse, just coming up to 800klms and loving every ride. I have always owned Japanese bikes, mostly cruisers and they have served me well, so hoping for a long and happy relationship wth the Indian brand.
I upgraded to the stage one pipes and AC and stage 2 cams, initially felt a little disappointed with the sound of the pipes as I am used to louder Vance and Hines mufflers but I am now liking the quality and sound of the stage ones.
I am hoping to find someone that has modified the fob to add a button to activate the alarm, to guide me through the process.
Mods I want to do first will be to add a bit of bling, including the toe shifter and floorboards, maybe mirrors.
I will also be doing a bit of Indian clothes shopping, will get the Indian vest, two tone gloves and t shirts.
Looking forward to reading other posts in this forum and will appreciate any tips others may have.
If there are any other riders in the Brisbane area that want to meet for a ride, will be happy to meet up

Hey nhamer, welcome to our forum.  Enjoy your ride and enjoy the process of modifying the bike.  Lot of folks on here with different mods and many have shared their experiences along the way.

One question... didn't your Darkhorse come with floorboards???  I have heel shifter and they are great.  Especially since some bikes are little more clunky than others... being able to stomp down to up shift is nice.

I got ya... they do look nice but I personally prefer the plain rubber floorboards.... decades ago, I bought a pair of nice looking chrome/rubber boards on my bike and I ended up stretching them with my boots over time.  But of course, if we all did the same thing, all our bikes are going to look the same so enjoy your personalisation process.  Several aftermarket mobs make stuff for our bikes now too so... more options.

Thanks for the link BigTone, unfortunately that store doesn't seem to have any in stock. I have opened the fob and see the button, but a bit nervous to start drilling.

I know some of them were discussed somewhere in these pages but let me see if I can remember a few...

Hopefully others with better memory than I can suggest some more for you.

Managed to modify my fob, removed the back, drilled a small hole in it and fitted a button that was salvaged from on old tv remote, looks like factory mod and works a treat. Very easy to activate the alarm at any time now.
