Silversmoke
Gday from Bundaberg. Have recently picked up my 2017 Chieftain as a replacement for 2015 F6B Goldwing.
Looking forward to putting some K's on the bike hopefully will get to an occasional shop ride but I'm a long way north.
Really loving the ride sofar.

Hi ho Silver!  Welcome to our forum.  Honda F6B is a great touring bike also.  When you get a chance, I would be interested to hear your comparison between the two? Pros and cons... what made you switch to Chieftain.

Thanks V-Twin. Let me say both bikes are at the very top of their respective segments.I loved the Wing it was smooth, comfortable and very torquey. Comparing the two is hard because they are very different. I have been an Indian fan since I was in my teens just loved the look. My neighbour had a 1948 model( I think) and I fell in love with it often wonder where it is now.
Pro's and Con's,
I honestly had only one gripe with the F6B it's seat was abit hard for my preference. In saying that I still covered nearly 70,000 K's in two and a half years.

As for the Chieftain well it's early days I have only done 1,000K's but I'm loving it. Big, comfy, powerful but what really excites me is the looks and a big part of that is that front mudguard. I am sorry but the new cut away guard just isn't the same. I have yet to go out on the bike and not have at least one person come up and want to talk about the Indian. Very gratifing to think people seem to share a bond with the Indian even if they don't ride.
Cheers Greg

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.  The look doesn’t excite me but I can admire the 2018 Gold Wing from technical accomplishment.  Before that I did wonder about F6B myself.  So many bikes... did you have any issues with your F6B

G'day Silversmoke
Welcome to the forum. I haven't had a lot to do with Gold Wings other than the odd ride on mates Valkyrie but I am with you on the looks.
Enjoy the bike.
