Hey guys,

I just bought my used Scout bobber 2018. It is quite poor with ugly stickers, but I would love to try to make something out of it, to make it more personalised. I see a lot of good info here so I am very pleased to join this huge family.

G'day Ecno & welcome to the forum.  It's a good spot for all your needs!  Scouts are great bikes, reckon you'll enjoy the ride.  Oh, and remember, beauty is only skin deep (or is that Sticker deep?).  You'll find a few stickers have nothing to do with the riding, Especially with a Scout. ðŸ‘ðŸ˜Ž

Thanks guys! I have just got rid of those flashy stickers, so now its just plain black the way I like, shame I cant put back the old indian badge. So far I put the original bar end mirrors and ordered a new exhaust with an s&s air filter! Cant wait to get it!

welcome to the forum mate.
The Indian badge shouldn't be hard, I had a quick look at Eagle Power sports and they have them for $262 a set.

Hey again Ecno.  My Scout has decals rather than a badge, it looks as good & you have nothing to catch on as you might with a badge.
Besides, I've had a few bikes over the years without any identifying names on them (a couple of Harleys for instance), didn't particularly worry me.  If they can't figure out what bike you on without a name on it, well, I figure that's their bad luck not mine! (besides, a couple of hundred bucks for a badge/decal is money that could be used for neater additions to the Scout!)  As always, it's a matter of personal choice, enjoy either way. ðŸ‘

Thanks croc,

I am thinking the same thing, I will leave it as it is for now, just plain black, because paying 200$ is a little harsh. I might save some money for a tune.

Welcome to the forum, Ecno.

Nice bike.
I had a 2016 Scout for a while before moving up to a bigger bike.

Another option for a tank badge is to get a sign company to make up an adhesive decal for you, a much cheaper way to go. I have a 2008 Kawasaki Versys and got so sick of people asking me what the weird name meant I took it off and rebadged the bike as a Hodaka, an American dirt bike brand from the 60s and 70s. I had a few of them in my dirt days and the bike now gets nostalgic older riders thinking Hodaka is back in operation. 🙂

Here you go, pics. I drew up the stickers full size as a PDF file and had them made up by a sign company. It's 3M black film that turns gold at certain angles.

Hodaka made mostly dirt bikes with names like Dirt Squirt and Combat Wombat, and only one road bike they called the Road Toad - it was green, a no-brainer for the Kwaka. And yeah, the bike is only a 650,  I lied about that too. 🙂

The Versys copped a lot of stick because of the stupid name, it means Versatile System (this is what passes for imagination in Japan). So people all over the world rebadged them with more imaginative names. There are a few red ones that suddenly became Ducatis. 🙂

I reckon a black Bobber with black tank badging that turns gold would be a winner.

It is also very reflective under headlights, making it a safety addition at night.

Ha!  And I have been wondering all this time how you got your moniker.

Problem solved in one post, without me asking any embarrassing questions!

Good one Doc.

Welcome aboard ecno.  Great to see that the bike is getting plenty of thought and action already.

We usually like photos alongside the stories, especially before and after shots.

Feel free to share - we won't laugh - promise!

Hmm, better retract that last word...

Enjoy mate.
