Zeus
Hello All,

I am currently riding a HD but will be taking delivery of my 2018 Scout Bobber in May 18 and I'm very, very excited.

I've not met many Indian riders in Adelaide and would love to talk to some guys/girls who have already done some mods to their scouts/bobbers

Thanks for having me!

Hey Zeus.  Welcome to the world of Indian!  I also have just got another Harley (even tho I still have my Indians).  Don't bother trying to compare them, both different bikes , , , but my Scout goes like hell, you will love having one!  Stay safe, shiny side up mate!

Welcome Zeus.  Bobber is a great looking bike... if I was 10 years younger and little smaller...

Welcome to the forum Zeus. Originally from Adelaide and hope to get back there one day.
Changes made to my Scout include Indian Stage 1 slip on exhausts, progressive shocks on the front and DS shocks on the back. Working through some issues with Trask Powerflow air filter and PVCX, will be running that set up again soon.

Hey Zeus,

A few of us are having a meet up at the Three Brothers Arms" at Macclesfield at 1.00pm on 21/4/2018. We are trying to get a South Australian informal riding group together. Why dont you come along so we can all meet over a feed and cordial.

Hey Jollster,

That sounds great, thanks for the invite,

I work weekends and live in the city, so I cant commit to it just yet,

Do you ever meet up in the city then head into the hills?

I'd still be on my Learner HD also (If that's allowed) wont be a true Indian rider till early next month

Thanks

This is the first time we are getting together. Very early days. As I mentioned, very informal. You could turn up on a scooter and nobody would care, I’m sure. That bobber would make up for the Harley anyway 😎

Hi Zeus and welcome. I'm not sure about the Bobber but if they're anything like the (early) Scouts save some money for suspension upgrades. I have Dark Scout rear shocks and progressive front and they are essential items before anything else trust me. Just my 2 bobs worth I've just put on RCX 3" slip on's and they look great but are very loud and they lobbed on my doorstep in Kapunda SA for under $600. Not sure how they'd look on a Bobber though. I also have S&S air cleaner and EJK fuel controller both fitted at Adelaide Motor cycle centre as I'm assuming this is where you're purchasing yours. Enjoy your bike but take it easy first up. These are quick bikes (for a 'cruiser')

I wholeheartedly agree with trwaterman's last comments.  The Scout is VERY quick.  Ridden quite a few bikes over the years, the Scout has to be among one of the quickest! Not that I'm into racing but I can attest to the fact that a certain person on a Harley Vrod got left way behind from a standing start against my Scout.  I expected him to overtake in about 3rd gear, but I underestimated my bike, he got burnt.  Taking it easy at first is a VERY sensible suggestion.  Enjoy!  ðŸ˜ˆ

I am told Bobber comes out of the factory with considerably better suspension than the early model Scouts.  Thank goodness!

You’re correct Vtwin. All 2017 scout 60, 69 and bobbers have improved suspension over the 15’s and 16’s. it pears Polaris heard all the negative feedback from Scout customers saying the suspension was crap.
