Okay so i ordered pasenger setup, floor boards ness pinnacle seat backrest, b/rest pad and a rack. As i did not want the tall backrest I couldn't believe it when i was informed that the smaller backrest does not come in a black finish, only the taller one. Fml so what do i do ?

I call brother in law, hey mate how are ya hey if i order a part for my bike and it only comes in chrome, can you fix it so it is a black gloss finish? Yeah just bring it over let me know what ya want and leave it with me. Gee thanks Brudda I appreciate it..

Thank goodness i know someone in that field of expertise, but I have to say that is annoying that the part is not available in the two colours grrrrrrr. I really don't understand the logic behind it.

That is a pain for Dark Horse (DH) owners.  I'm not sure if it could be done but I would like to see all black accessories to be matte/flat black, instead of gloss black.  I think that will match DH bikes better.  I assume paint peels off too easily if it was matte?  Maybe they could scratch easier?  Not sure.

Yeah Vtwin i was in indian the other day and there were two dh ready to be picked up and one did have the higher backrest with the rack out the back, it was in the gloss black they do, I thought it looked pretty good, mind you i am not a fan of the higher b/rest but that is purely my taste. I was thinking that for a break up of the matte finish like the gloss is on the fender trims and strut trims it went well. What annoyed me is that the smaller b/rest only came in chrome, i agree with the matte maybe scratching to easy but with a clear matte coat i am not sure what the answer will be but my brother in law manufacturers in metals with a lot of different finishes so i will get some intel from him

Cool!  [thumb]  I know several Dark Horses with visible chips on forks and around the headlight nacelle... I wounder if Indian parts purchased in gloss black could be stripp and re-done powder coated?  Can you get flat/matte black powder coating done?

Or could possibly do a whole new colour.  Flat 'gun metal' grey Dark Horse!  Possiblies...  [biggrin]

I did a search for 'paint' but your post didn't come up.  If you find it, please feel free to start a new thread titled, "How to Fix Dark Horse Paint Chips" or something like that so others can benefit from your wisdom!!    [smile]

I got the backrest, so I took it to my Bro in-law factory and showed him the backrest he said its no problem to do the powder coating in b.ack but he said the chrome work was of a high quality and great finish, he said it is up to me to go ahead but he recommended I leave it as is. So I kept it in chrome
