Does anyone know if there is a way ( I probably already know the answer)  of turning on the ride command screen without everything else being on such as headlight etc? It would be nice to spend some time learning the gps etc without the system shutting down every five minutes or having to turn that function off and then running down the battery. I guess I could pull the headlight fuse but it would be nice to turn the screen on by itself.

No I don't but on a similiar issue I would like to play my radio when not riding without the  bike shutting down. The sound system in the bike is better than my phone

Yes it seems to be a bit of an oversight as I would like to listen to the radio and music when I'm camping too, seems a waste to have all that tech but really only good with the engine running or riding.

I imagine it is pain in the are a safety or convenience thing so the battery is not drained. If I needed it often I would wire in a Red Arc charging system to a small 12V battery. I may consider this when I finish my custom esky and sissy bay rack. I am also fitting a weatherproof USB port and stubbie storage area. Something compulsory for the NT ha ha

I smile as i read this, have discussed this with many riders. I too get frustrated when going through the system to learn it.. but that said I would rather not have a flat battery.
I find going through the manual with what i want to know then focus on it when turned on..

I've got a suitable battery charger, all I need is a plug adaptor, so I guess it's remove the headlight fuse and plug the charger in, turn off the 5 minute shut down option whilst using it at home, still a pain when on an extended ride/ camping.

I got a spare mobile phone once, with headphones, loaded it with music to listen to on a long ride.... it went gutz up down the road after 200kms (couldn't do much but listen to bass anyway)...I just hum along to myself or sing now... oh, And I read Road Maps... they are pretty cool & don't need batteries!  Missus thinks I'm a Dinosaur (no joke on the "Croc" moniker) coz I never use the nav thingie in the SRT...  What the hey... (She has mobile with maps!)  😂

I love paper road maps, with electronic stuff you can't get your orientation properly, a mix of both works.

I bought my first GPS back in 2008. It was a TomTom and there was a desktop app that mirrored the operation of it so I could learn it sitting at my computer. They changed the operating and filing system on them somewhere along the way and it's no longer workable. I don't know if they have the same thing on new models, but something like that for the Indian system would be helpful.
Cheers, Kim.

Can anyone enlighten me as to setting up a second trip meter on RC? I miss the simple ones on my Triumph speedo.

Its all there on the screen.. if you flip through you will see trip one and usually depending on how you have the command system setup trip 2 will be on the screen. Just push reset on it.

Ok, all I have seen so far is the screen that says current trip, time, distance etc etc. I need to spend more time on it.

Got to spend some time flipping through it. You can split the screen as you please.. its a pain when the bike turns off while trying to study it.. hence this page. Good luck

Yes, I started this page in frustration with the 5 minute shut down thing. I have now made an adaptor for my smart battery charger to hook up so I can disable that option for a while.
