Ok, I've decided I need to do something about this wind.  Having a 30km/h headwind while doing 100km/h just makes for a tiresome ride.

But I can't bring myself to put any of the big windshields on that Indian sell for my Scout.

Two questions:

1: Does anyone have the 1901 low fly windshield fitted to their Scout?  Does it help to reduce the wind on your chest (I'm 5'8") at all?

2: Does anyone have any other brand of windshield that will reduce the wind on my chest?

I had my Chief windscreen cut down by Peter at Motorcycle Windscreens in Reservoir to get away from the LAPD look (posted elsewhere in this forum). He makes windscreens from scratch. Might be worth talking to him? His number is 0412 102 029

One of the windshields I was looking at for my Scout was the Kawasaki Cafe Shield. Apparently it's a straight fit to the Scout fork tubes, it's not too high, it tames the wind and it looks good.

Dr.Shifty that does look fantastic!  Here in NooZullan I am not sure I can find a dealer that stocks it so that I can confirm a correct fit.

I think you should get one right away and post pics of it attached to your Scout.  😉

Yep, and that would work except for one thing. I sold the Scout a year or more ago so I could buy the Springfield. As they say in the classics, 'Sorry about that.' 🙂

Did you end up getting a fairing for your scout?, I  went for the Memphis Shades bullet fairing and happy with it, it’s quick detachable as well8C772543-500B-4ED9-826C-032E258D6F14.jpeg  4D57B6C7-95E9-4E65-AC8D-F05B71357261.jpeg  r

I have the 1901 fly screen on my Scout. It does make a difference but not a huge one...

Late to add to thread..... have just fitted the Indian 1901 Flyscreen and was quite amazed that such a small screen can make a difference in wind deflection. 😀👍

I wish they made these in a clear option so that those of us without blacked out bobbers can use them too.  🙁

These guys deliver to NZ, they say 8-12 working days.  Order the tint you want and select Indian Scout to get the correct brackets.

Hope this helps.

srd, any tricks to mounting it?  has the mount held up well?  I'm getting all anxious waiting for it to arrive now because I have not put non-indian stuff on it yet. 🙁

I bought my Dart Marlon (light tint) from Murray, he's very good to deal with.

I have to say that the wind acts as a natural speed restrictor and after fitting a dart marlin, I do find myself riding faster!

Bought the Dart Marlin - very happy with the result, both look and wind reduction.
