Has any one had any of the remote alarm and start up systems installed on their Indian?

If so how have you found it? Where there any down sides? Do you think it’s worth the money

The big bikes have an alarm as standard.

By remote start I imagine you mean the conversion to a fob instead of ignition key. There are a couple of members on the international forum that installed one when I had the Scout and was on that section of the forum more often. I think it was called Bull Dog or something similar.

I am looking for something that adds a bit more of a deterrent for someone to steal the bike. Apparently near where I work a few have been knocked off. I have seen a system that starts with a remote and has an alarm as well but can still work with you having a key. Looking at my options at the moment.

i have a Digital Guard Dawg on my Victory cross country, works great and never had a problem with it. it has been on the bike for near 5 years. i didn't get the alarm addition but wanter the fob system. the fob works tha same as the harley fobs in auto mode but unlike harleys it can be set to push button to activate as well. i have had two harleys for years that have the fob system so when i got the victory it was one of the first mods.

Thanks Bluey2. Good to know. I’ve read a couple of good reviews on the guard dawg systems. Nice to know you have had one for 5 years with no problem. Do you find you have to change the bike battery more as a result or is it much the same?

Hi Kat, sorry about the late reply I'm not on the computer much.
The starting battery in the Vic is original 2012 but needs replacing so it doesn't worry the battery. The bike has 36,000 kls not many for the age but I have had 2 Harleys as well. I changed the fob batteries about 6 months ago so they last very well as well. The DGD fob has 2 cells as the Harleys only have one. I normally have to change the Harley fob batteries at about two years. Hope this helps.
