Can anyone tell me if the Indian brake and clutch cable extension kit would be long enough to fit a 12" ape handlebars on the scout bobber? thanks and cheers

Sorry don't have a lot of experience with a scout but I would be surprised, the manufacturers keep things pretty tight for both looks and cost.  They don't normally leave a lot of wriggle room (maybe an additional 4" would be the max I would say - just guessing)

Thanks Crash, according to some indian forum. The indian clutch and brake extension kit does not even come close to fitting a 12" or high bars hence there arent many scout with 12" bars. One guy on the forum got it custom made with +8" cables.

Anyways I believe the extension kit are from the stock indian scout. All i need to know now is the measurements for the cables and work out how much longer i need.

Looking at the cables on my 10" Mini apes (factory installed) i would say another couple of inches is probably not going to work.
They are just standard cables though (more or less).
Surely you could have a brake and clutch cable made up for not too much coin. Probably be cheaper than the kit supplied by Indian.

Hi Adge85, I know you can get them custom made in the states at Barnett for $79 USD incl shipping to Aus. I wonder if theres a place here in Brisbane or Aus that does custom cables. Would be good if someone can tell me the length i need.

You can make your own clutch cable if you are handy with tools and prepared to put in the work. Places like this sell all the stuff.

This is the first place that came up with a web search, there will be others. You need to match the lower half to the existing cable as some have a metal sleeve to allow a bend as it turns under the motor.

Brake cables can also be made up to length and any brake shop should be able to do it. The length you need is from the clutch lever, down the bars, under the front edge of the fuel tank, and onto the metal brake line that comes from the ABS unit. Bleeding the brakes is tricky as the ABS valves apparently need a special tool to ensure proper bleeding.
Cheers, Kim.

Thanks Doc for the very useful info. I might order some custom cables from Barnetts in the states. Been hearing good things about this company
