Has any Scout owners had issues with their horns? (Bike horns that is)
While out on a ride last Sunday, I operated the horn to see a mate off but it sounded like a cat with the flu.
I looked around and noticed that cagers in close proximity didn't even notice.
Looks like another mod to do.

Hey Tezza, are you saying that your horn has a fault and playing up? Or are you saying that they are weak from the factory and want to replace them with a louder horn?
Let's be kind to one another.

I've had to honk at cagers who moved into my lane when I had the Scout and they took no notice. Most bike horns are underpowered for use in the real world. I considered putting on a nautilus 120 dB horn for a while but sold the Scout before that got done.

To better answer your question I've set a cat trap outside my house and have ordered a batch of flu virus. I'll let you know how the sounds match up when I've got the experiment completed. 😁
Cheers, Kim.

had an issue with my horn....but may have had something to do with knocking it into the oil pan while changing oil ðŸ˜‹
Can't say was too fussed though as wasn't impressed with its sound.....as mentioned above its not like anyone would have heard it anyway.
Ended up replacing with 1 of these

I've had my Scout for almost a year and have never tried the horn until last weekend. As I mentioned, it sounded sick but rather than stuff around with it, I'll replace it with a louder unit. I've done the same with my other bikes.

Just ordered the Stebel horn. 136DB should wake the cagers up.

I don't sit in people's blind spots or follow too closely, so I don't often have an opportunity to use my horn. Two years of daily commuting and my thumb still doesn't really know where the button is, lol.

I have the Stebel Nautilus, Tezza, great horn and its compactness and makes it easy to fit, but I do have issues with the compressor not doing what its supposed to sometimes, sometimes a brilliant horn, sometimes sounds like a sick duck..lol, but for the price, great and better than the stock horn

I want to hear more about the cat!  Something about sick pussyCAT & poor performing horns?? 😆

Serious, the horn on my Scout is (as stated before in this link) pretty useless.  However, my pipes
setup is more than enough for people to notice.  I also am a great believer in the "Loud Pipes"
thinking (though not to the stage that they are eardrum popping!)
I'm Not Completely Useless . .
