I have a parcel coming from a forum member in the US. It took four days to get to Sydney, then this,

Instead of leaving Sydney and going north to Newcastle it was sent to Perth. 😡😡😡
Cheers, Kim.

Since the parcel is American, it is heading to the east coast... 'WA' = Washington State???  😆

I wonder what goes through the thinking of the Perth AusPost worker who scans the parcel from Sydney and sees it's a NSW delivery.

Of course, it might be that putting the words 'thinking' and 'AusPost' in the same sentence is never going to work.

When I had the Scout I bought some footboards from a Perth member on this forum. They went from Perth to Wagga Wagga to Sydney back to Wagga Wagga and sat there for three days then back to Sydney and then to Newcastle. Do they think we pack our children up and send them off for a holiday or something?
Cheers, Kim.

it's a deterrent to stop people from packaging children, animals, raw meats, fish and any other form of life.  They figure that if it takes too long to get to the owner, whatever is in it will be well past it's use by date by the time you get it.  Let's just hope that Australia Post don't get into any other vertical.

Welcome to Australia BLOODY Post.  The most inefficient organisation that God put breath into.

Many years ago they were great but now I wouldn't feed the useless bastards.

Have I had some bad experiences with them? you better believe it.

As I mentioned in a previous post about my Crusher Mavericks, delivery time was only 17 days. Three days from the USA and the rest in Australia's customs and post.

Here's the reply I got from AusPost when I asked them to tell me why my package went from Sydney to Perth instead of Newcastle.

Thanks Kim,
At this stage I'm unable to tell why it was processed in Perth but its most likely a sorting error. I would now expect this to arrive to you between Friday and Monday.
Xamara.

'Most likely a sorting error' of course its a sorting error! Although, to be fair, it could have been Russian interference or high sunspot activity or Cyclone Tracy.
And arrive between Friday and Monday? On the Easter weekend? How out of touch are these people?

OK, rant over.
Move along, nothing to see here.

I ordered engine guards on Ebay from China last Thursday and received them today. The fastest delivery for me ever.

I just got some panhead parts from a machinist in West Virginia in 11 days which is pretty good.
Interestingly it was 5 days from WV to Perth via Japan  and then 6 days to get it from Perth to me in Perth???
I also get parts from J&P Cycles in less than 2 weeks which is good but the price can be a killer. I find that one part might cost $45 for the part and $50 to ship but 10 parts is only $60 which makes it cost effective to wait until I have a few items to order.
There is also a myUs option where you buy a virtual address in the US and they provide shipping options based on speed and cost. I haven't used mine yet so I can't say anything about delivery time but it is a good way to take advantage of free shipping in the US and get a cheaper price to get it to Australia.
