Hardyards

Hi all,
have fitted the new windshield and colour coded back rest to the dark horse and am now looking for a quality bag to fit to the luggage rack. Townsville Indian are ordering a travelmaster bag in for me to look at. Cost about $200. Looking for any feedback from owners of this bag, recommendations on a better one, or brands to stay away from. ( private reply if bad review upsets the forum rules please)
I like the bags that hold shape when empty, but open to suggestions on soft bags if that is the better option.

Also included the picture of my Dad ( recently passed) from the early sixties racing his Indian side car down Bathurst straight that I have on my bike, to remember him

thanks.

Sorry, can't help with the bags question (got a Vintage, so got the tasselled wonders as standard), however, VERY impressed with the photo of your Dad.
More power to you Brother, admire your dedication to your Father & also his ability to race a sidecar Indian in the day.  ðŸ‘

Hi Hardyards,
I recently completed a 6day ride and camp trip on my Vintage using the OEM sissybar rack.
After try severaly rack bags found that they didn't fit because the pillion pad was too wide to accommodate the straps on the sissybar bags.
So I use a 47litre Denali duffle bag from Anaconda and attached it using good quality tie downs. Inside I used the material they use to make signs out of (name escapes me ) which I bought from Bunnings.

Inside i used two water proof compression bags. One for my clean cloths and one for the dirt ones. (Also from Anaconda) these worked really well

The panels Bunnings sell for signs etc is called Coreflute. You can often get it for free from real estate offices as they generally keep old for sale signs out the back somewhere and give them away.  I got some like this a week ago to shade a back yard bee hive through the heat and they were happy to give me some.

Matt's second link doesn't work for me but you can chase up dry bags or dry sacks in kayak shops. I've got a few of them for kayak touring and have used them in leather saddlebags when i had a Scout.
Cheers, Kim.

Thanks for the information, Matt. I still have some good quality duffel bags from the military and your idea of giving it shape with the corflute is gold mate.
Kim, I use corflute on the top of the super, between the frames and roof to stop my bees from attaching the honeycomb to the roof/lid. Also got it for free from a construction site as it was old safety sign stock. 🐝👍
