I’d say it might well be the only air clutch installed on a street bike in Oz and the MSD launch control I think is a first fitted to any Indian anywhere that I’m aware of.
I adapted the MSD from a universal unit made for an in-line 4 cylinder Japanese sport bike and modified it to fit a V-twin.

Nice. That's an extraordinary bit of kit. I can't help thinking you've been watching a bit of Wallace and Grommet. 🙂
Cheers, Kim.

That IS some nice engineering too.  You DO like thinking out of the box eh?  How will that go with Mr Plod though??  ðŸ‘

Yeah absolutely Robbo, I’m gunning for the quickest Indian Scout over the quarter, that’s my goal.
Mods so far are:

S&S intake
Radical Radius pipes
EJK engine management
Bosch wideband O/2 sensor
Intellihealth air/fuel ratio gauge
Pingel Quickshifter
MPS Air Clutch
Barnet Kevlar extra plate heavy duty clutch kit
MSD 2 step launch master

Plus the cosmetic stuff:

Custom 8.5 inch rear rim
Scout Sixty rim power coated
240 tire
Kuryakyn front and rear indicators
Memphis shades bullet fairing
deleted rear chassis section
custom rear guard (in progress)

Dyno this weekend for a base HP figure and next is fitting a Wizard of Nos direct port nitrous system 75hp installed in the base of throttle body plenum, just waiting on a final price from Brett at Pace motorsports.

So to explain how some of these things work together if your not sure.

Msd launch master allows you to set and then it will hold any rpm you want for launching (say 4000rpm) by killing ignition timing to hold it at 4000rpm point until it’s deactivated and then you get instant full throttle.

Pingel quick shifter gives me total clutch free upshifts and even downshifts, upshift are 60-90 milliseconds at the push of a button.

MPS air clutch is a pneumatic assisted clutch lever with a built in adjustable switch (for the MSD launch control) and is adjustable bleed valved so you can control the speed the clutch comes off.  To use you pull lever in, press and hold button and it’s locked on until you release and clutch comes off.

So putting it all together in use for those not exactly sure.

I pull clutch lever in, press and hold the button in for the air clutch, clutch now locked on, select first gear, wind throttle fully open, Launch Master holds rpm at 4000 triggered by the switch on the clutch lever, when I’m ready to go I release my finger off the button, the clutch slides off as the launch control comes off and full throttle comes on.
After that it’s time to hang on! and tap to clutchless upshift when the shift light comes on.

Sorry for the novel! lol,  but I hope that makes sense!

Epic doesn't describe it!  Love to see the monster launch off!  Shoot!  Here I am wondering if I should put footrests on the Chief & Kyane is going ballistic! ðŸ˜³

Awesome Kyane. Keep us all informed when you intend taking it to a meet. It might be worth a ride to go and watch. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ‘

I’m going to hit the local eighth mile down my way for a bit of track time and get it sorted then head to Calder Park or Heathcote.
