OK, so I'm having a real lot of trouble getting the Corbin seat into Australia. All comms with the Australian importer go unanswered so I dropped a note to Corbin directly, also unanswered. Does anyone have a contact in the USA they know that I could get it shipped to, and then re-shipped to Australia? PayPal would be used to keep everything safe.
Cheers

Ahem....you do know I live in the US....right?  Although most people in the US do not like to acknowledge Texas being part of the US and most of the people who live in Texas...don't like to acknowledge being anything but an independent nation that is physically connected to the US...but at the end of the day....we are part of the US.

So what can this old Texas boy do to help you?

You can PM or email me at doczac@att.net and let's come up with a plan to get you the seat you want.

I have heard that Corbin may have lost their way with (lack of) customer service from several other people.  I use to have Corbin myself 20-odd years ago.  Today, I would consider Mustang Seats instead.

It seems their web site is SLOW at the very best.  I have put together a graphic of the seat you described and as soon as it comes to me...I will forward it to you.  I want to verify it is exactly how you want it prior to talking to them.  Once I have all the information, I will call them...discuss pricing including shipping to my home and notify you.  The rest can be worked out as we work through the entire situation.

I am always happy to assist anyone in Oz....many fond memories of my time there.

Yup - know about and have used these. But they have maximum package dimensions.

Given the level of customer service you have/have not received from Corbin, why would you want to give them some money? They may have a good product, but if anything goes wrong who do you have to deal with? Yep, customer services. I had a similar experience with them fifteen years ago and have used Le Pera and Mustang seats successfully instead. They are also much less expensive.

They have the product I want. Plain and simple. I'm not worried about after sales support.

I have a Corbin on my Drifter. Best seat ever! The Aussie dealer took months to get the seat to me but it was worth it in the end. I was a bit annoyed that Corbin USA forced me to go through the Aussie dealer who really did not seem to care about my request for a rarely purchased item. My wife loves the seat on our Roadmaster so I will not be changing it, yet.

Well they don't care now to the point of now returning any emails I send them, or answering their phone.

They're the same. I was dealing with them back in Feb (Ian specifically too). It's like they don't exist any more.

Importers or distributors typically prefers to deal with retailers where each order is worth tens of thousands of dollars, rather than a few hundred bucks (for individual customers).  I have had similar dealings with importers of other brands in the past with similar results... but at least they got back to me and said, they don't sell retail.  Oddly, VPW advertises 'Worldwide shipping'.

And they were dealing with me back before I was suspended from driving/riding. I told them I'd be back in touch later in the year. Which I was. But nothing back from them.
