We may need a whole new forum category for Mr Crash! 😆

And this fully explains why it's what it's like to ride behind Crash on the open road. 🙂

Crash, my backyard had crop circles in it, our young bloke reckoned him lost control of the power drive mower, but I know better.

Some people claiming to be in the know in the US are saying tomorrow will be the day the rest of the line-up is announced. Others are saying the 5th of September. Others are saying the pic I posted is a 2019.

LOL! I love it. Everyone's an expert.

Just saw this video. The new chieftain is not that thing CHF10 posted, thankfully. There are new ride modes, same engine, looks like some new paint. Not a bad year, but not as revolutionary as some had hoped. It does look like they put the war bonnet back on the chopped fender though.

I think my favorite this year is the white Springfield "darkhorse" though I think they could have come up with a better name of they were going to paint it white, lol.

Sorry but I think the white is ugly, and yes it needs a new name though...

Wondsr if the three ride modes will be coming out to prior years in a software update or it's just 2019 onwards

PS: personally not a fan of the cylinder shut down.....I don't think it's warranted and just another but of software to mess up

It appears by the release information that Indian are no revealing anything about their "redesign" Chieftain till the 5th September.
So chances are that those pics and V-Twins thoughts may have some credence after all.
I guess we'll see on the 5th September.

Personally I hope they dont retrofit these mods into older bikes, if they did what would be the incentive to purchase the new model

White's not a new colour. Gloss on the RM (there's one in the Melbourne showroom) and satin on the Chieftain Limited (also one in the Melbourne showroom). I LOVE the RM white and silver.

Maybe on Ride Command models but I don’t believe the 3 Ride Modes can be added to older models - I would think it needs a dedicated button?

video shows it being done by toggle switch on throttle side of chief

Suggestion... Instead of four (yes we're up to four) threads on 2019 models, can we maybe talk about them in one thread? 😏👍🏻

I guess it could be retro fitted to older models.  I’m not sure if I will ever use it. 🤔  Maybe on a rainy day... to ease back the throttle on 116ci... hmmm...

I would think the mapping switch would be much the same as it is on dirtbikes, nice to have in theory but once the novelty wears off no one really uses it.

Current 2018 Chieftain

Past 2016 Scout

Future I'm thinking old School 40s Chief.

From what he says on the video it sounds like the three ride modes are simply different throttle response curves that can be done in PowerCore. It's a good idea to have them selectable as there are times when the snappier throttle can get you into trouble.

From the website, the white smoke Springfield Dark Horse is an option but the black is still the standard.

I am all for keeping the threads grouped together, but the discussions are different.  Earlier threads discuss speculations for 2019 models; another specifically on 2019 Chieftain; another on official launch of 2019 models; another on Scouts; etc.,

The wait is over.  Indian announced the 2019 Scout models already and discussed here.

Indian has also announced the 2019 Chief, Springfield and Roadmaster and discussed here.

We are waiting for the announcement of 2019 Chieftain range (AU time, 6 Sep).  Until then, we have leaked photos to amuse ourselves with here.

So, with all these specialist thread, I will close this thread.
